Talk: Venice Biennale (10 September 2024)

Strauss & Co and Art School Africa are excited to invite you to an evening of discovery as we explore the Venice Biennale, also referred to as the "Olympics of the Art World." This iconic event, held every two years, attracts visitors from all around the world and has a fascinating and layered history.

Join us to hear from Bina Genovese (Managing Executive Director at Strauss & Co) and Siwa Mgoboza (Associate Curator of this year's South African Pavilion), who will shed light on the intricacies of the Biennale, including its journey toward greater inclusivity and the growing, though still modest, presence of African countries.

Following this, our speakers will dive into the details of this year’s South African Pavilion curated by Portia Malatjie.

Italian-style harvest table and aperitivos will be served.
